Diary Day 4: Alice loves history and was taking lots of photographs of the castle
Sunday 13th July 2008
Diary Day 4
It was just after 9-o-clock when we set off for North Wales. We explained to Alice that this is another Country and pointed out the different language on the road signs along our journey. There were few cars on the road and we eventually arrived at our destination at 10:45; Conway Castle. We started towards the castle by walking along the old castle walls which led us to the main entrance. Alice loves history and was taking lots of photographs of the castle and the views of Conway. The weather was lovely and we spent nearly 2 hours in the Castle, going up the narrow spiral stairs to the top of all the towers. The castle is over 800 years old and we explained to Alice that the King of England, Edward 1, stayed there. Afterwards we went into the town of Conway were we had a lovely Sunday lunch in a small café. We then walked along the harbour front before heading back to the car at 14.40. Our next stop was Llandudno. We headed straight to the pier and walked to the end and back. Alice had never been on a pier before and my dad explained the history to her. We had a great time looking at all the attractions and buying things from the numerous gift shops. My dad then drove us up to the top of the Great Orme. Here we had great views of all the area and it gave us all a chance to rest our feet for a while. Alice disappeared in the gift shop looking for more presents. It was now nearly 6:00pm and we decided to head back home. We were not very hungry but when somebody suggested that a tray of chips would be nice, my dad headed off to New Brighton. We arrived at about 7:45pm and we each had a large tray of chips and ate them as we walked along the front looking out over the river to Liverpool. The journey back took us under the River Mersey and we finally arrived home at 9:15pm.
We all had a great time.
