Day 9

We had the opportunity to visit their sister school called Zhongshan School - identical to Guangzhou English School but on a smaller scale with some 1500 students. We were met by the Director, Ellen & once again we were treated like celebrities & had a tour of the school & visited some lessons. Our students were paired up with a Chinese partner for the morning & went off to lessons. Another game of basketball was fitted in before a delicious lunch. Everyone was really eager to speak to us as this school only opened in 2003 & does not have any international links - yet!

We arrived back at school at 3pm in time to do some last minute packing before our final evening meal at 5pm. We then all gathered at the front entrance for a huge group photograph before saying our fond farewells. There were tears from both Chinese & English students & everyone agreed to stay in touch!

Day 10

Had a really good journey home, no delays, super fast connecting flight & actually landed in Manchester airport half an hour early! Arrived back at school safe & sound just after 9am. Straight home for a long hot bath & bed! Many thanks to the 5 staff who accompanied us on this journey: Mrs Aylward, Miss Fawley, Mr Moreton, Mr Howker & Miss Wells, we certainly have experienced a fantastic & unforgettable trip of a lifetime!!!
