Blast off!" What was that 58ft rocket doing in the car-park? Well, it was the 'Nova 2' rocket brought in to the school by the company Starchaser, courtesy of Miss. Owen and the Science and Engineering Club. The Nova 2 has been created by Starchaser to test a number of systems which, if successful, will form the basis of an even bigger rocket to carry fare paying passengers into space!! In November 2009 the Nova 2 will be launched from a UK launch site in order to put the vessel’s safety systems to the test. The capsule that will be ejected mid-air will be unmanned and has been designed to land safely by parachute. Students from the Science and Engineering Club will go to the launch and may even win the chance to 'press the button'! Reports from the students

In preparation for the visit from Starchaser, our resident 'rocket-man' Mr.Crennell did some fun activities, including the old favourite...mentos in diet coke. (Video coming soon)
