National Year of Reading 2008
2008 has been designated National Year of Reading, and on March 6th World Book Day will launch activities associated with this. All students will receive a £1 book token on that day, and bookshops and libraries will have activities to promote Reading for Pleasure.
National Year of Reading has a website (www.yearofreading.org.uk) with ideas to encourage and expand reading, and each month will have a designated 'theme' to encourage reading across the curriculum.
- April - Read All About It
- May - Mind and Body
- June - Reading Escapes
- July - Rhythm and Rhyme
- August - Read the Game
- September - You Are What You Read
- October - Word of Mouth
- November - Screen Reads
- December - Write the Future
We are starting our Year of Reading with a Book Fair Week from Tuesday 29th January, offering 'Buy One Get One Free' on all books at the Fair. Staff are very welcome too!
Thank You
