Who are we?
Clinic in a Box is a school nurse-led service, specialising in offering sexual health and relationship advice and contraceptive services to young people. This service provides emergency contraception, condoms, pregnancy testing, chlamydia and gonorrhoea screening, advice, information and support on relationships and sexual health issues.
What is Confidentiality?
When you visit Clinic in a Box, you may want or need to tell the nurse something that is personal to you and that you do not want other people, such as parents, carers, teachers or even friends, to know. We value and respect your need for confidentiality.
When does confidentiality get broken?
When you visit Clinic in a Box, you may want or need to tell the nurse something that is personal to you and that you do not want other people, such as parents, carers, teachers or even friends, to know. We value and respect your need for confidentiality. In most situations, a nurse will ask your permission if they need to share your information with anyone else. In exceptional circumstances, a nurse may believe that what you have told them has caused them to be concerned for your welfare, for instance if you are in physical danger.
