Support

The foundation of our student support is a strong and extensive pastoral system.

Students are placed in a form group with a form tutor who is their first point of contact. Each year group is led by a Learning Manager; a teacher who monitors a students progress academically in terms of target grades as well as taking overall responsibility for their general well-being. Each Learning Manager works in conjunction with a non-teaching Pastoral Leader, who is responsible for liasing with parents, monitoring behaviour and providing a friendly ear for students. Together they lead the team of tutors in the year group and supervise year areas within school.

Support for attendance is provided by Mrs M Parker who should always be contacted on the first day of a student’s absence. She is supported in her monitoring of attendance by our Educational Welfare Officer.

Within school we have a full time medical assistant who is housed in the medical room and liaises closely with parents of students experiencing health problems or injuries.

Mrs Janice Calvert-Williams is the Inclusion Manager and her role includes supporting students to remove barriers to learning.
