What an incredible day of competition, teamwork and House spirit at our Festival of Sports 2026! 🎉
On Friday, our five Houses – **Compassion, Integrity, Determination, Endeavour and Resilience** – went head-to-head... in a range of team sports and athletics events, battling it out to earn valuable points for their Houses.
After a fantastic day of effort, enthusiasm and sportsmanship, **Resilience House** were crowned the overall champions! 🏅👏
However, the true winners were everyone who took part. From the students giving their all in competition to those cheering passionately from the sidelines, every member of our school community played a part in making the day such a success. 💙💛💚❤️🧡
A huge well done to all competitors, staff and supporters who made the event so memorable. The determination, encouragement and House pride on display perfectly reflected what Rainford High is all about.

🏉 Pic 1&2: Y8/9 girls rugby have won 🏆 the St Helens cup 🏆 against Hope! A tough game in very warm weather! Rainford beat Hope 28-24 it was a great performance from all. Special mention to Eva B. who was awarded player of the match for her ...outstanding efforts but unfortunately twisted her ankle 5 mins before the end of the game. Congratulations girls 🎉
🏃♂️ Pic 2&3: Town Sports, We placed 2nd against Rainhill who beat us by just 4 points 654 to 650. An amazing effort from all our competitors. Junior girls and inter girls won their age group. Special mention to Erin P, Rebecca W and Lili G were 3 year 11 girls that came back to compete for us 🫶🏼
Emily C (Y7) winning the junior 1500m and breaking the town record by 10 seconds 😮💨 the previous record was 5.32 which has stood since 1991. Emily Ran 5.22 🤩👏🏼

What an incredible evening celebrating the creativity, talent and dedication of our students at the annual Arts Exhibition!
The exhibition showcased an outstanding variety of work from our Fine Art, Textiles, Photography and ...Graphics students, with impressive displays of paintings, drawings, sculptures, textiles, photography and mixed-media pieces. Families and friends joined us to admire the remarkable outcomes and the imagination behind each creation.
The event provided a wonderful opportunity for students to share their creative journeys, celebrate their achievements and inspire the next generation of young artists within our school community. We are immensely proud of the hard work, passion and artistic excellence on display.

📚⚖️ Edge Hill University Criminology & Law Taster Day ⚖️📚
Our students recently enjoyed an exciting and insightful visit to Edge Hill University, where they took part in immersive activities designed to bring their studies to life.
Students worked together ...to build and investigate a crime scene, developing key investigative and analytical skills used by professionals in the field. They also experienced a moot court session with the School of Law, stepping into the roles of legal professionals and gaining first-hand insight into courtroom procedures and legal argument.
These valuable experiences help to enhance learning within our A-Level Criminology and Law courses, while also providing excellent enrichment opportunities to support students as they prepare their UCAS applications and explore future university and career pathways.
A fantastic day of hands-on learning and inspiration for the next generation of legal and criminal justice professionals!

📍 Sixth Form Business & Psychology Trip to Chester Zoo! 🦁🐵📊🧠
Our Sixth Form students enjoyed an inspiring and educational visit to Chester Zoo, combining real-world business insight with fascinating psychological research.
📈 Business students took part in a ...marketing workshop exploring how Chester Zoo uses marketing to support its conservation mission. They investigated marketing objectives, visitor research and target audiences, gaining valuable insight into how organisations balance commercial success with social and environmental responsibility.
🧠 Psychology students attended a Primate Behaviour workshop, visiting a variety of primate habitats across the zoo. They explored key psychological concepts including attachment, social organisation, communication, intelligence and learning, seeing theory brought to life through real-life observations.
It was a fantastic opportunity for students to apply their classroom learning in a unique setting, deepen their understanding of their subjects and experience how both business and psychology play an important role in conservation efforts.

🏉 Year 8 boys rugby have done it again!! This week has seen them not only successfully defend their St Helen’s cup against Cowley High. 🏆
The boys remained undefeated and went into todays national final, hoping to repeat last year and do ...a clean sweep of all 3 Rugby League trophies 🏆which they did with a 30-4 win against Sirius Academy!
Such an amazing achievement for a brilliant team who dominate in every match they play. Well done boys 🎉🏆🏅
⚽️ Pic 2: Year 7 girls 7 a side football team were invited to the Merseyside competition as a result of winning the St Helens cup this year. 🏆
The competition was for the top 14 schools across the county and for Y7 and 8s, so the girls were up against it from the start. A fantastic effort from the girls throughout the afternoon, and we are looking forward to seeing what they can achieve next year 👏
